The one who plants trees knowing that he or she will never sit in their shade, has at least started to understand the meaning of life.
- Rabindranath Tagore
About us
Karvaan Foundation was set up in 2018 in the town of Udgir of Latur District by a group of environment enthusiasts with a mission to make Latur drought free. For decades, Marathwada has been in the clutches of drought, severely affecting thousands of villages in the region. This isn’t just a natural calamity but a crisis caused due to rapid destruction of nature and poor management of the natural resources.
Every problem has a solution. Karvaan Foundation is working towards a solution that is economical, ecologically viable and sustainable.
Our Team
One of Karvaan Foundation’s biggest strengths is its team, who ensure they strive to fulfil our mission and vision while upholding its core values. If we have been able to bring a change, it is mainly because of the people who have made it happen through their expertise and dedication.

What We Do
Karvaan Foundation focuses on causes related to environment and rural education.
Afforestation
Karvaan Foundation has successfully created two mini-forests with 1200 trees in Udgir. The afforestation is done by following the Miyawaki technique of plantation combined with Palekar Guruji’s organic farming techniques.
One of the effective methods for afforestation is the use of Seed balls. This is a Japanese technique and was introduced by scientist Masanobu Fukuoka.
Our work is only possible because of our dedicated volunteers, who number in the hundreds annually. That is why Karvvaan Foundation provides extensive community service and volunteer opportunities for anyone looking for ways to help the underprivileged community.
