About Karvaan
We are a group of environment supporters from Udgir, a town in the drought affected Latur district of Maharashtra. We believe, with the right methodical approach and proven techniques, we can make Latur drought-free.
Our Mission & Vision
Drought has plagued Maharashtra for decades, causing hunger, thirst, debt, crop failures, and forced migration. This crisis, largely man-made, can only be solved through water conservation, management, and environmental restoration. Karvaan Foundation believes in collective action to transform Latur into a drought-free, self-sufficient, and greener district. Our vision includes rainwater harvesting and creating mini jungles to ensure water abundance for years to come.
Our Core Beliefs
We at Karvaan Foundation believe that education is a basic human right and therefore strongly support rural education through a number of initiatives.
Our Objectives
Our objective is to strengthen rural education and create awareness about the environmental challenges. We aspire to make Latur clean, green and drought-free through our foresting and rain water harvesting efforts.
Our Team
One of Karvaan Foundation’s biggest strengths is its team, who ensure they strive to fulfil our mission and vision while upholding its core values. If we have been able to bring a change, it is mainly because of the people who have made it happen through their expertise and dedication.
