Our Initiatives with Seedballs

One of the effective methods for afforestation is the use of Seed balls. This is a Japanese technique and was introduced by scientist Masanobu Fukuoka. This economic and sustainable method is all about collecting seeds from fruits and vegetables, then mixing them with soil and manure and making balls out of them. These organic seed balls are then planted (thrown)  in the designated areas.

A seed bank is a place where different kinds of seeds are collected. These seeds are then made into seed balls. Karvaan Foundation conducts seed ball workshops in schools and colleges in Udgir.

The idea is to show the significance of nature to children and inculcate values to use their resources with care.
